Great Joy To You Today

Luke 2:10-11 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.

There are many people around Christmas time that face the blues.

I recently heard a song that went like this: 

     I’ve got the Christmas time blues

My tree lights just blew a fuse

              I never know what gift to choose       

            My charge card’s just been refused

        I’ve got the Christmas time blues

It is true that there are a lot of things that can go wrong during this time of year.  If we only looked at the natural circumstances around us, it would be very easy to get depressed.  But I am glad to report that blue doesn’t have to be the color of your Christmas this year or any year.  Because God wants you to know the “good news” of why Jesus came into this world.  A Savior is one who rescues or saves from danger or destruction and then brings us into a state of joy and prosperity.  Jesus, by coming into this world, has rescued us from sin, sickness, oppression, addiction and all the power of the enemy.  But that’s not all.  He has also made available to us: righteousness, peace and joy to reign in our hearts.  As you hear the Gospel or “good news” of why Jesus came into the world, and allow the Holy Spirit to make it real to you personally, the result will be an indescribable joy that transcends every circumstance that you may be facing even now. Luke 1:46 And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Savior.  This joy is, “unto you” and it can happen “this day.” 

Don’t forget that Jesus is still the reason for the season.  Put Him first place in your life and allow Jesus, who came into the world, to come into your heart in a very personal way.
