Making A Difference

Acts 13:36 For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers…KJV

David’s biography is summed up in one phrase of this one verse.  “…He served his own generation by the will of God.”  David’s generation was impacted by his life, influence and his service.  He didn’t dominate, lord, or take from his generation, but he served it. In other words, he lived his life making a difference in the lives of those around him.  You see; the tragedy in life is not in dying, but in never really living to make a difference.  Our lives should not be about making a buck, a point, or even a profit.  But out lives should be about making a difference.  Albert Pike said, “What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us, but what we have done for others and the world remains immortal.”  You see, you’ll only be remembered for the difference you have made in the lives of others.

I believe its only right to give back those things we have received from others.  If you ever see a turtle sitting on top of a fence post, you know one thing is clear, it didn’t get there by itself.  It had some help.  If in your life, you have been saved, blessed or growing in the things of God, it’s because somebody prayed for you, took time for you, sacrificed for you.  Now it’s your turn to make a difference in the life of others.  1 Peter 4:2 Declares “From now on, then, you must live the rest of your earthly lives controlled by God's will and not by human desires.” (TEV)  Making a difference is not just about what you believe, it’s about what you do.

Our generation has immediate claims upon us because of the unique needs that exist in this hour. But if we will serve this generation by the will of God, we can see those needs met for the Glory of God.  Some said, that true men are born for their time, not of it.  I believe we were born for such a time as this.  Let us raise the honor and dignity of this generation by serving it according to the will of God.  Jude verse 22 exhorts us with these words, “And of some have compassion, making a difference:” KJV

I pray that you will have a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday with your family and friends and come and be with us at Life Fellowship Church, a place of love healings and new beginnings!

Be Blessed,

Pastor Danny
