Reducing the Pressure

There is no way that we can eliminate all the pressure in our lives, but I believe it is possible to reduce it.  In Matt. 11:28-29 Jesus said, “Come unto me all who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me…and ye shall find rest for you souls.”  Jesus has the wisdom and knowledge to teach us how to manage and reduce the pressures of life.  In verse 30 Jesus continues by saying, “My yoke is easy and my burden is light.”  His yoke or plans for our lives fit perfectly on us.

Here are 6 ways to reduce the pressure in your life:

1

Concentration- Focus on one thing at a time. If you spread yourself to thin, you’ll find yourself under a lot of pressure. There are so many things in our lives that are unnecessary to our main goal or purpose in life.  Learn to establish  goals that reflect what is important to you.  Phil 1:10  approve and prize what is excellent and of real value (recognizing the highest and the best…) AMP

2

Organization- Just because you’re busy doesn’t mean you’re productive.  I have found that you will either live by a set of priorities or by pressure.  The meaning of the word order is that everything has an arrangement or sequence or its proper place.  This makes important  documents easy to file and easy to find. 1 Cor. 14:40 Let all things be done decently and in order.

3

Delegation- One reason we get so uptight is that we feel like we have to do everything ourselves.  This creates a lot of pressure. In Exodus 18:20 Moses appointed other leaders along with himself to counsel and lead the people.  This act of delegation saved Moses from wearing himself out.  In Mark 3:14 Jesus delegated His authority to 12 Apostles.  Delegation is absolutely essential to reducing stress and pressure in our lives.

4

Dedication- Specifically to diet and exercise.  A lot of people are digging their own graves with their fork.  If you overweight, I hope your thick and tired of it!  Its time to exercise a little mind over platter.  To keep fit as a fiddle you’ve got to tone it down in the middle.  Seriously, our bodies are the temples of the Holy Ghost (1Cor. 6:19) and showing some moderation in your eating habits along with a good exercise routine will greatly reduce the pressures in your life.

5

Relaxation- Mark 6:31 Jesus said, “come apart… and rest awhile.”  Everybody needs some down time in their lives. One of my favorite scriptures is in 1 Peter 3:10 which talks about loving life and seeing good days.  I believe you have a desire to really start enjoying life.  Learn to take some “time out” and do some things you enjoy.  It’s so important to love, live and laugh.  In fact a merry heart does good like a medicine. (Prov. 17:22)

6

Meditation- One of the greatest ways to reduce pressure in your life is to wait on God.   Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.  One of the verses to “What a Friend we have in Jesus” says, “Oh what peace we often forfeit, oh what needless pain we bear.  All because we do not carry, everything to God in prayer.”  You see, reducing the stress in you life is not just about having a plan or following a program.  It’s about knowing a Person.  His name is Jesus. He invites you today, to come into His presence and to give Him all your cares, worries, frustrations, and even your failures and sins.  These are the things that truly make us wearied tired and burdened.  As you do, it will feel like a thousand pounds has been lifted off you.

I pray that as you apply these simple steps, you will reduce the pressures in your life and managed the challenges you must face, with a whole new strength.

May God Bless You,

Danny Robinson
