Restoring your Passion

The definition for the word passion is, “a strong emotion that has an overpowering or compelling effect.”  God created us to be people of passion.  Passion creates greatness.  It motivates ordinary people to do extra-ordinary things.  Passion is what energizes our lives.  What hunger is in relation to food, passion is in relationship to life.  Daniel 7:25 tells us that in the last days, the enemy of our souls will try to wear out the saints of the Most High.  You might be reading this article and in need of having your passion for God, church, family or even your very life restored.  John 10:10 Jesus said. “I’ve come that you might have life and have it more abundantly.”

You might ask, how can I experience a new passion in my life?  Begin to focus your heart, mind and attention toward these principles and you’ll begin to be re-energized in your life.

P-Pursue God’s Purpose

II Timothy 1:6 (NIV) “…fan into flame, the gift that is in you.”  You don’t need a new purpose or gift from God.  Just begin to fan the flame of the gift or purpose you already have.  The fact that your gift needs fanning, indicates that that it can be disregarded or even misguided.  So begin to be aggressive toward what God has placed into your life, knowing that He will be with you to and give you grace.

A-Passion is the result of a positive Attitude.

Matthew 9:23  “If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.”  No matter what you face, God will see you through.  Its not what happens to you, but how you respond to what happens to you.  Your Uplook will determine you Outlook which will determine your Outcome.   The real battle is in the mind and you can win that battle by keeping your mind in the Word of God.

S-Search your heart on a regular basis.

Don’t allow self-pity, your sins or your failures snuff out your passion for life.  God will give you a new beginning if you will turn to Him.  His thoughts toward you are thoughts of peace and not of evil to give you a hope and a future. (Jer. 29:11)  God sees value in you.  Don’t live a life a survival but live a life of significance.

S-Submit yourself to the Lord.

Col. 3:23  Tells us that, “whatever we do, do it whole heartily as unto the Lord, and not to man.”  No matter what your job or profession might be, you can be excited and passionate because your doing it as unto the Lord and not unto man.  And know this, it is from the Lord that you will see your reward.

I-Invest your life into others.

Your life should not just revolve around you and just what you want.  Discover your purpose and begin to pour yourself into the lives of those around you. There are many people who need what God has placed in your life.  If you will bear one another’s burdens you will fulfill the law of Christ. (Galatians 6:2)

0-Keep an Open heart to God.

Always allow yourself to be pliable in the hands of God.  Stay sensitive to His Spirit.  Stay yielded in His presence.  God will ignite a fire in you that will cause you to be, “fervent in spirit serving the Lord.” (Rom. 12:11)

N-Learn to say No to the devil.

Prov. 23:17 “ Don’t let your heart envy sinners, but always be zealous for the fear of the Lord.  For surely there is a future for you and your hope will not be cut off.”  Learn to say to your enemy, “get thee behind me satan!”  No, I’ll not quite!  No,  I’ll not give in, and No I’ll not turn back!  Your too close to your miracle!

May God Restore the Passion in your heart that you really begin to live the kind of life He has called you to live.

In His Wonderful Name,

Danny Robinson
