How to Make Your way Prosperous and Have Good Success

Joshua 1:8 This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success. (AMPLIFIED)

Someone once said that, “Success is not to be pursued; it is to be attracted by the person you become.”  I would have to agree with that because in reality, success is not so much what we have as it is what we are.  Life is very precious.  It is a gift from God, but how we live it is our gift to God.  Your decision to follow God’s Word will determine your destiny.  And God’s destiny for your life is prosperity and good success.

There are three steps that gives us entry into a prosperous and successful life according to Joshua 1:8.  The first step is:

Meditation- “…mediate day and night.”

We all meditate but God tells us specifically to meditate upon His Word.    The road to success will be paved with images of seeing yourself living the experience of what God said you can have, what God said you can do and what God said you can be.  When you take God’s Word, and meditate on it continually, you will begin to expand the borders of your mind into limitless possibilities.  You will also begin to neutralize the negative emotions of fear, doubt and unbelief that stand in the way of your advancement. The Word of God, creates a courage in you that will not be denied. You will begin to move forward through every challenge that comes against you. Psalms 1:2-3  …But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.  And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. (KJV)

Confession- “…shall not depart out of thy mouth.”

Matt 12:34 …for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. (KJV)  When people speak, your really listening to what they are thinking about.  If your mind is filled with God’s Word, that’s what will come out of your mouth.  You will not speak the problem or the circumstance, but you will speak the Word over the problem and circumstance.  Proverbs 18:21 declares, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” (KJV)

Action- “…that you may observe to do…”

James 1:22 states, “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” (KJV)  The next thing that follows is action.  The most practical, beautiful, workable philosophy in the world won’t work - if you won’t.  If we don’t start it’s certain we can’t arrive.  Average people look for ways of getting away with it; successful people look for ways of getting on with it.  When you decide to step out and act on your dream, that’s where the growth is.  When you commit to action, you’ll discover resources you didn’t know you had.  You’ll tap into possibilities you didn’t know were in you.  The reason is there was never a demand placed upon those resources because you always set back and adopted a status quo mentality.  But not any more!  God’s desire for you is to take action, declaring, “I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.”  Philippians 4:13. (KJV)  As you are diligent in these three areas, you will begin to, “make your way prosperous and have good success.”

May God’s bless you,
