JANUARY 2007 How to Achieve Your Desires in 2007 Proverbs 24:3-4 Any enterprise is built by wise planning, becomes strong through common sense, and profits wonderfully by keeping abreast of the facts. TLB The greater danger for most of us is not that we aim to high and we miss it, but that we aim to low and reach it. Michelangelo Winners don’t just react to change, they create change. When you realize the cost of staying the same is much higher than the price of change, your ready to move forward. If your going to be under an open heave in 2007, some changes will be necessary in your life, but that is when you really start living. Ps 37:4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. KJV Let me give you 7 clear cut ways to achieve your desires in 2007: 1. Be Clear About What You Want. Mark 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. KJV Don’t be vague, but definite, detailed and determined. Have Smart Goals: Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Time –sensitive. Take a few minutes and begin to write down some of your spiritual and physical goals for the upcoming year. 2. Count the Cost Luke 14:28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost… KJV Realize there will be valuable time, energy and resources invested in seeing your dream come to pass, but the trade-offs will be worth it in the end. Proverbs 21:5 The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; KJV 3.Take Action James 2:20 But wilt thou know…that faith without works is dead? KJV You’ll never possess what your unwilling to pursue. Procrastination is one of the biggest enemies to realizing your goals. One of these days usually becomes none of these days, if your not careful. Also, the greatest goal in the world, won’t work, if you won’t work it. There will never be the perfect time, where everything is just right for you to begin. Eccl 11:4 states, Don't sit there watching the wind. Do your own work. Don't stare at the clouds. Get on with your life. The Message Bible Now is the time to take action and get on with your life. Remember: You don’t have to get it right, you just have to get it going! 4. Stay Positive Rom 4:17…and calleth those things which be not as though they were. KJV Begin to visualize the end results and then speak in line with what you see. Be Flexible and Make Adjustments Where Necessary. Doing more of what doesn’t work, won’t make it work any better .When something isn’t working, reflect, evaluate, get feed-back, correct it and keep moving forward. 6. Commit to Finish Whatever You Start! 2 Tim 4:7…I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: KJV Yes, there will be challenges along the way. It has been said, “you can always tell the size of a man’s character, by the size of the obstacle it takes to overcome him.” Adversity causes some people to break, and others to be Record Breakers. 7.
