Don’t Judge Your Future By Your Past

Even thou you cannot change where you have been, you can change where you are going. You cannot undo what’s been done. Refuse to live in the “What if” syndrome ;

what if:”

I would have made a better decision,
done thing differently,
married someone else,
taken another job,
or that situation would have turned out differently?

Not everything is going to go right all the time and there are times we should have made better decisions. Someone said if, “ifs, ands, and buts were candy and nuts we would all have a Merry Christmas.” When you always blame yourself for past mistakes, bad decisions and negative circumstances you get stuck in the past. Yes you must be responsible but you cannot change the past and you cannot turn back time and there is no sense in sitting around wishing and whining that things were different. What’s happened has happened. Learn from it, be smarter because of it, but no matter what has happened you have to move on.

Is 43:18 says, …do not remember the former things, neither consider the things of old, behold I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth.

It is time to quit crying over past hurts, pains and losses and its time to move into your future. You have hurt long enough, you have been down long enough, you have felt guilty and condemned long enough, and cried long enough. Yes, you have taken a licking, but make a decision to keep on ticking. You might have webbled and wobbled, and have even fallen down, but I refuse to stay down because the scripture says when I fall I shall arise (Micah 7:8), and so it’s time to get up and keep going.

You may have been broke, busted and disgusted but it is time to bounce back!

Your setbacks are only setups for your comeback!

Your stumbling blocks are going to be your stepping-stones!

Your up-look is going to determine your out-look, which will determine your out-come!

When I give my past to God, He will take what the enemy meant for evil and turn it around for my good. In Isaiah 61:2, God said he would give me beauty for my ashes and the oil of joy for my mourning. Give God the ashes of your past today. Release those hurts, wounds and emotional scars and let God heal them now. Psalms 23:6 says, … goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life. You’ve got to much living to do, to be dying on the inside. John 10:10 Jesus said He would give me life and life more abundantly. Make plans for a new beginning and a fresh start. Decide for this coming year that you are going to arise and shine for the light has come and the glory of the Lord is upon you (Isaiah 60:1). This coming year; 2005 is a time to come alive! I encourage you to live in joy, peace, health and abundance. In Jeremiah 29:11 God said, The thoughts that I think toward you saith the Lord, are thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a hope and a future. Never again judge your future by you past! Your future is so bright you need sunglasses to see it all! Take one last look over your shoulder and say, “Hasta La Vista Baby” and kiss the past good-bye. You learned from it, and you’re more wise and mature because of it, but your not living there. Philippians 3:13 ….this one thing I do, forgetting those which are behind and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

The Lord Bless you and Keep you, the Lord cause His Face to Shine upon you and be Merciful to you. The Lord Lift up His Countenance Upon you and Give you Peace!

Happy New Year!
